#EpicLife: It’s not a diet. It’s a lifestyle.

Done and dusted! Congratulations to the thousands of participants that have just completed the Spring/Summer 2021 Epic Life Challenge. Since the end of the challenge, we have been basking in all of the incredible success stories, Non-Scale Victories (NSVs), and “wow” moments. One stand-out star that we can’t get enough of is Debra Scott. She walked over 150 miles during this challenge and with obstacles such as Lupus and Fibromyalgia, this is a huge accomplishment.

We are so proud of how far she’s come with her wellness journey—way to go Debra! Keep up the great work.

1)    What was your life like before the Epic Life Program?

Before the Epic Life Challenge, I was not active and because of the pandemic, I stayed home to remain safe. During the day I would often skip meals, which caused me to become hungry late in the evening. I would then snack on things that were unhealthy. I did not follow a routine or schedule, so my sleeping habits were poor. Because I had no plan, meals were thrown together at the last minute and were often not the best for me or my family.

2)    How has your life been positively impacted?

Since joining the Epic Life Challenge in May, there are no words to describe how good I feel. I sleep well and have so much more energy to do the things I love. I’m so glad that in May I decided to put myself first and commit to this program. I do #MealPrepSunday and I cannot even remember when I did meal prep in the past. I love using my Epic Life Journal—it helps me keep track of my food plan, water intake, exercise, and how I’m feeling. I love having a balanced plate and have never eaten so many fruits or vegetables in my life! It’s amazing how our bodies begin to crave healthy food after we get rid of unhealthy habits.

3)    What are your most significant non-scale victories?

My most significant NSV is that I’m finally exercising. With Lupus and Fibromyalgia, it was easy to make excuses to not exercise. I’ve found that by moving my body, my inflammation is more manageable and I have fewer flare-ups. I walk five days per week and I’ve recently started water aerobics. I’m more confident and have much more energy than I’ve had in years. I’m down four pant sizes and most of my clothing is way too big. The amount of positive changes I’ve experienced is incredible!

4)    Would you recommend the Epic Life Challenge to others?

I would encourage and recommend the Epic Life Challenge to everyone. It allows you to eat healthy food that tastes delicious. This program isn't a diet, it’s a new way of living. I cannot express my gratitude enough for the Facebook group that has supported and encouraged me every day! This challenge is truly changing my life one day at a time, one step at a time. I have got this and so do you!
