Tuna Casserole | One meal, three ways

If there’s one thing we love, it’s a meal solution that can be made more than one way—like Tuna Casserole. Beyond a comforting, good-for-you casserole—that’s easily customizable by swapping white beans or tofu for tuna and adding in extra veggies with sautéed or steamed mushrooms—you can use the meal solution to make Tuna Naan Melts and Tuna Fish Casserole Cakes. Here’s how:

TUNA NAAN MELTS

Ready in just 10-minutes and at $1.96 per serving, these Naan Melts will quickly become a family weeknight favourite.

Ingredients for 4 servings

  • 2 naan bread

  • 2 cans (170 g) unsalted tuna

  • 1 pkg Tuna Casserole Seasoning

  • 1/3 C (80 ml) 2% plain Greek yogurt

  • 1/2 Tbsp (7.5 ml) lemon juice

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to broil.

  • Meanwhile, in bowl, combine tuna, seasoning, yogurt, and lemon juice.

  • Place naans on Sheet Pan; broil until lightly toasted, 1 min per side.

  • Spread one side of each naan with tuna mixture. Top with cheese; broil for 1-2 more min.

TUNA CASSEROLE FISH CAKES

This recipe is all about the versatility—fish cakes make a great dinner with a side of greens or veggies and transform for easy entertaining.

Ingredients for 6 servings

  • 1 Tbsp butter, melted

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 425°F. Place Perfect Petites on Sheet Pan

  • Peel and cube potatoes. Place in Multipurpose Steamer. Cover; microwave on high 8–10 min or until cooked.

  • Meanwhile, drain tuna. In a large bowl, whisk egg. Add tuna, seasoning, and peas.

  • Using Ground Meat Separator, mash cooked potatoes with butter. Add to tuna mixture in bowl; stir to combine.

  • Divide mixture into Perfect Petites; press to flatten. Bake 7–10 min until tops are browned.

#Tip: To quickly and easily fill Petites, simply dollop mixture into cavities as best you can – it’s messy! Use your finger to clean between rows, pressing overflow or messy blobs back into cavities.
